Drought and climate change
The impacts of climate change are evident across all of California but particularly in Environmental Justice/Frontline communities where the effects of extreme weather are compounded by decades of racist planning and exclusion from water management and infrastructure investments. Research has an important role to play in proactively identifying climate-related water vulnerabilities and developing strategies to not only mitigate climate impacts and build resilience but do so while also addressing ongoing disparities.
